BUFT Strengthens Industry Ties Through MoU Signing Ceremony
BUFT & NBA Sign MoU to Boost Education and Professional Growth
BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) and News Broadcasters’ Alliance Society of Bangladesh (NBA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 25 November 2025 at BUFT’s Nishatnagar campus, establishing a partnership to expand educational and professional development opportunities for Bangladesh’s news broadcasting community. Under the MoU, BUFT will provide NBA members and their immediate family members with a 10% additional tuition fee scholarship across all programs and a 50% admission fee waiver, supporting higher education and skill enhancement for media professionals.
BUFT Chairman Mr. Faruque Hassan described the collaboration as a commitment to empowering those who serve society through journalism. NBA Chief Adviser Mr. Zabed Karder praised the agreement as a meaningful step toward improving educational access and strengthening professional competencies within the broadcasting sector. The MoU also includes cooperation in public relations and media engagement, and will remain valid for two years, with the option for renewal. The signing was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT, Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj, Director, Department of Public Relations of BUFT, Mr. Raisul Hoque Chowdhury, General Secretary of NBA, and Mr. Atiqur Rahman Atik, Health & Social Welfare Secretary.
BUFT Signs MoU with 10 Leading Industry Partners
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), in collaboration with its Career Development Center (CDC), successfully hosted a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with 10 leading industry partners on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees, who attended as the Chief Guest and the signing representative for BUFT. Mr. Mohammed Nasir, Member of BoT, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor; along with other distinguished guests, also attended to mark this milestone occasion.
During the ceremony, BUFT signed Academia-Industry Partnership Agreements with several renowned organizations, including Team Group, Giant Group, Hameem Group, Babylon Group, Eco-Tex Limited, Fakir Apparels, Sonia Sweater Group, Purbani Group, Paramount Group, and Shasha Denim, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration to enhance practical learning, research opportunities, and career development for students. The event concluded successfully with the dedicated participation of faculty members, staff, students, and the concerned administrative departments, whose collective efforts ensured a smooth and well-organized program. BUFT expresses its heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in supporting this important initiative, which will play a vital role in bridging the gap between academia and the textile, apparel, and fashion industries.
