Aesthetic Separate Prayer Spaces for Men and Women Inaugurated

Newly renovated and aesthetically designed separate prayer spaces for male and female students, faculty members, and staff at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) were officially inaugurated at a solemn ceremony held on the university campus on 10 May 2026. The inauguration was conducted by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the significance of providing a peaceful, comfortable, and spiritually uplifting environment for the university community.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate) of the university, along with Acting Pro Vice Chancellor & Treasurer, Registrar, deans of different faculties, heads of departments, university officials, faculty members, and students. The renovated prayer facilities have been enhanced with modern aesthetic features to ensure greater comfort, cleanliness, and accessibility for worshippers. Separate washroom and ablution facilities have also been arranged for male and female users to ensure convenience and proper religious practice.

This initiative reflects BUFT’s continued commitment to fostering an inclusive campus environment that promotes both academic excellence and spiritual well-being. On the occasion, special prayers were also arranged for the speedy recovery and good health of Mohammed Nasir, Member of the Board of Trustees of BUFT. The ceremony concluded with prayers and appreciation from attendees for the university’s continuous efforts to improve campus facilities and overall student and staff well-being.

BUFT Shows Solidarity with Palestine Through Fundraising Initiative

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has demonstrated its solidarity with the people of Palestine through a collective humanitarian effort. Faculty members, officials, staff, and students came together to raise funds in support of those affected. The donation was formally handed over to the Mastul Foundation on 7 April 2026 at the foundation’s head office. The organization will ensure that the funds are delivered directly to beneficiaries in Palestine.

Representing BUFT at the handover ceremony were Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), and Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of the Department of Public Relations. The donation was received by Mr. Abu Md Kamruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Mastul Foundation. A large number of BUFT students, along with members of the Brand Ambassador Team, were present at the event, reflecting the university community’s shared commitment to humanitarian causes.

BUFT Holds Foundation Training for Newly Appointed Faculty

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) conducted a full-day Foundation Training Program on April 4, 2026, for newly appointed faculty members of the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), attended the program as Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), was present as Special Guest. The program began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Abdul Goffar Khan, Director of IQAC at BUFT, followed by speeches from BUFT management emphasizing the significance of quality teaching and faculty development.

Prof. Dr. Mozahar Ali, Former Advisor of UGC, led the sessions covering the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF), academic ethics and morality, professional code of conduct, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) with a focus on aims and learning outcomes. Afternoon sessions explored Bloom’s Taxonomy across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, alongside a practical session on question-answer techniques and assessment strategies conducted by a representative. An interactive open discussion allowed participants to share insights and experiences. The training concluded with closing remarks and certificate distribution, underscoring BUFT’s dedication to academic excellence and continuous faculty development.
