Focus on green textiles and draw the "Belt and Road" togetherIn order to further implement the "Belt and Road" initiative and promote the green transformation of the global textile industry and the collaborative innovation of education, the 2025 International Conference on Ecological Textiles (Belt and Road) with the theme of "Green Textile, Education Unicom • Win-Win Cooperation" was held in Wuxi online and offline from December 21 to 22. The conference was jointly hosted by Jiangnan University, Jiangnan University School of Textile Science and Engineering, Jiangsu Textile Engineering Society and I (Wuxi Textile Engineering Society), bringing together nearly 200 scholars from China, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Mali and other "Belt and Road" co-construction countries of universities, industry experts and business representatives, jointly discuss the development of ecological textiles, and draw a new blueprint for international cooperation.
Opening Ceremony: Building Consensus and Sailing TogetherThe opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Ma Pibo, Vice Dean of the School of Textile Science and Engineering of Jiangnan University. Ma Luyu, Assistant President of Jiangnan University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school, warmly welcomed the guests at home and abroad, and introduced the academic advantages and internationalization development strategy of Jiangnan University in the field of textile science and engineering. I will be present at the meeting of the President Wang Hongbo.
In her speech, Ms. Zhou Hongsheng, chairman of the Jiangsu Textile Engineering Society, comprehensively introduced the outstanding achievements and active exploration of the textile industry in green manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and international layout in Jiangsu Province, showing the responsibility and vitality of Jiangsu Textile Province.
Signing Ceremony: Education Connectivity, Deepening CooperationUnder the joint witness of the participants, Ni Yan, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of Jiangnan University, signed the Memorandum of Intent on Cooperation and Scientific Research Cooperation with BGMEA Fashion and Technology University of Bangladesh, Aerwang University of Egypt, and Gizac Institute of Technology of Uzbekistan. The signing covers many fields such as joint scientific research, teacher-student exchanges, co-construction of laboratories and collaborative training of international textile talents, marking a solid step for Jiangnan University to serve the construction of the "Belt and Road" and deepen the opening up of education.
Academic Report: Smart Collision, Sharing Frontiers The academic report session was chaired by Professor Wei Yufu, Director of the Innovation Intelligence Base of Key Technical Disciplines of Textile Ecological Processing. Professor Girma Beka Lemu of the University of Dere Dawa, Ethiopia, shared his cutting-edge research results in the field of advanced energy storage electrode materials under the title of "Double-shelled grading nuclear shell structural material for supercapacitors". Mr. Cai Yun, Chairman of Wuxi One Cotton Textile Group Co., Ltd., with the title of "Informatization + Innovation - The Road to Sustainable Development of Centennial Enterprises", vividly expounded the practice of traditional Chinese textile enterprises to achieve high-quality development through intelligent transformation and the expansion of the entire industrial chain. Mr. Zoumana Traore, Deputy Director of the Mali Textile Research and Training Centre (CERFITEX), systematically introduced the current situation, challenges and development strategies of the cotton textile industry in Mali. In addition, the expert team of the Ethiopian Manufacturing Development Research Institute also actively participated in the online way, showing the vitality of the national textile field. Roundtable Forum: Focus on Pragmatic and Common DevelopmentThe roundtable forum was chaired by Professor Fu Jiajia of Jiangnan University School of Textile Science and Engineering. The participants discussed in depth the core topics such as "joint laboratory construction", "Benshuo joint training" and "technical skills training". Wang Xian, deputy director of the State Department of Jiangnan University, introduced the school's international cooperation policy and project planning, and Associate Professor Xu Helan, assistant dean of the School of Textile Science and Engineering, introduced the scientific research strength and cooperation results of the college. The parties reached a broad consensus on how to dock with the Bangladesh textile industry chain, tap the potential of Egyptian scientific research cooperation, explore the technology transformation path of Uzbekistan, and give full play to the demonstration effect of the Wuxi cotton Ethiopia factory, laying a solid foundation for the follow-up practical cooperation.
Field trip: Perceiving China's intelligent manufacturing and promoting industrial integrationDuring the meeting, foreign representatives visited the Garment and Apparel Museum of Jiangnan University School of Textile Science and Engineering and Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Knitting Technology, and deeply experienced the inheritance of Chinese textile culture and the innovative power of modern science and technology. In addition, the delegates also went to the contact point of the association - Wuxi Yitong Textile Group and Zhangjiagang Guotai Huasheng Industrial Co., Ltd., a training base for outstanding engineers outside Jiangnan University, to conduct field visits, and closely experienced the advanced practices of Chinese textile enterprises in intelligent production, lean management and green manufacturing.
ConclusionThe 2025 International Conference on Ecological Textiles (“Belt and Road”) is not only a high-level academic event, but also a “Belt and Road” to jointly build a national textile industry and education industry to deeply connect and integrate the development of the departure ceremony. The successful holding of the conference further expanded the cooperation network between Wuxi and Jiangsu textile industry and the "Belt and Road" countries, and promoted the international dissemination of green textile technology and the sharing of high-end talents. In the future, the Wuxi Textile Engineering Society will continue to play the role of a bridge link, work with colleagues from all walks of life, jointly promote the green, intelligent and international development of the textile industry, and contribute Wuxi wisdom and strength to the construction of a community of human destiny in the textile field..

Grand Prize Giving Ceremony of Agent X AI Prompting Competition Held at BUFT
The Grand Prize Giving Ceremony of the Agent X AI Prompting Competition, organized by the BUFT Leo Club and powered by Microsoft, was held with great enthusiasm on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). The ceremony marked the successful conclusion of an innovative competition that showcased creativity, technical excellence, and advanced skills in AI prompting. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Honorable Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT, attended the program as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners. The event was convened by Sabbir Ahmed Abir, Advisor of the BUFT Leo Club. Distinguished guests in attendance included Ishaan Bin Zillur Rahman, Head of Sales, and Imadul Islam Imad, Head of Training and Solutions of NetCom Learning, whose presence added significant value to the occasion.
The winners were recognized for their innovative ideas, collaborative spirit, and effective application of artificial intelligence. Prize Giving Ceremony of 4th Intra-University Indoor Games Competition 2025 Held at BUFT
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) held the Prize Giving Ceremony of the 4th Intra-University Indoor Games Competition 2025 on 11 December 2025 at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall. The Acting Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Heads of Administrative and Academic Departments, faculty members, students, officers and staff were present to celebrate the achievements of the participants. The ceremony recognized outstanding performances across student and faculty categories.
In the student segment, Shoriful Islam and Mehedi Hasan Rabby emerged as champions in Table Tennis (Doubles–Boys), while Tamim Khan and Md. Anowarul Azim Shadhin finished as runners-up. In Carrom (Doubles–Boys), Md. Mamun Sikdar and Michil Roy claimed the championship, followed by Md. Wakiel Arafat and Md. Mahadi Hasan Munna as runners-up. In Carrom (Doubles–Girls), Farhana Sultana and Tasnia Jahan Trisha secured the championship title, with Mafruha Nahrin and Nusrat Alam Lam placing second. In Chess, the champions were Hasibul Hasan Abir (Boys) and Tasnia Jahan Trisha (Girls), while the runners-up were Ahasanur Rahman Abir and Ummi Fatima Raya.
Among the faculty members and officers, Mr. Yeasin Ali and Mr. Rakibul Islam Shifat emerged as champions in Table Tennis (Doubles–Male), while Mr. H. M. Jahidul Kabir and Mr. Md. Tajul Islam finished as runners-up. In Carrom (Doubles–Male), the title was claimed by Mr. Sabbir Ahmed Abir and Mr. Md. Moniruzzaman, with Mr. Md. Humayoun Kabir and Mr. H. M. Shaik Reza securing the runners-up position. For Carrom (Doubles–Female), Ms. Moni Jafar Pingki and Ms. Sultana Shamima Afrid won the championship, while Ms. Mafuza Alam and Ms. Gesmin Ara Perveen placed second. In Chess (Male), Mr. G. M. Waesh Koroni clinched the championship, followed by Mr. Md. Shahinuzzaman Shaekh as runner-up. In International Bridge (Male), Gp Capt (Retd.) ANM Rafiqul Alam and Mr. Aminur Rahman took the championship title, with Mr. Sajibul Haque and Mr. Md. Abul Hossain finishing as runners-up.
In the Above 50 Years category, Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain and Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman clinched the Carrom (Doubles–Male) championship, with Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan and Gp Capt (Retd.) ANM Rafiqul Alam finishing as runners-up. In Table Tennis (Doubles–Male), the title was secured by Prof. Dr. Md. Sanaullah and Mr. Md. Obaidullah, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan and Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain took the runners-up position.
Organized by the BUFT Games & Sports Club (BGSC), the competition began on 20 October 2025 and featured Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess for students; Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess and International Bridge for faculty members & officers; and special events for participants above 50 years. With participation from over 200 students and 60 faculty members and officers, the event highlighted teamwork, enthusiasm and strong sporting spirit across the BUFT community.
