BUFT Introduces Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines for Female Students

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has installed three sanitary napkin vending machines for its female students to address menstrual hygiene needs on campus. The machines have been placed at the female common room, in front of the multipurpose hall, and at the women's hostel. Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, formally inaugurated the initiative on 9 July 2026. The vending machines will provide sanitary napkins at a nominal price of Tk 10 each.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Ms. Sharmin Hassan Tithi, Director of Giant Group; Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), BUFT; and distinguished guests including actresses Runa Khan, Sadia Islam Mou, and sr. anchor Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj. The initiative was conceptualized by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees with the objective of providing accessible menstrual hygiene solutions for female students on campus. The vending machines are intended to ensure that students can easily obtain sanitary products at an affordable price.
